Thosea monoloncha (Lepidoptera: Limacodidae) attacks have been reported on coconuts plantation in Sulawesi the last few month. Pest outbreaks have been reported in North Sulawesi (1988), North Halmahera (1999) and the last five years in Tolonuo Island (2014). Regulations showed that the pest were classified by quarantine pest whose distribution in Indonesia is still limited and attacked coconut and palm oil. Insects cause extensive damage to coconut leaves both immature and mature plants. Information on biology of pest, geographical distribution and potential plant host were reviewed based on the literature. Based on the study, the commodity of banana and guava have a potential as an alternative host of the pests that needs to be watched out for distribution.
