Abstract

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas ekstrak daun sirih dalam menekan penetasan telur dan infektifitas Meloidogyne spp. Penelitian dilksanakan secara eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Empat konsentrasi (0,5%, 1%, 1,5%, dan 2%) ekstrak daun sirih diuji dan perlakuan tanpa ekstrak disiapkan sebagai kontrol. Tiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan analisis keragaman dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  ekstrak  daun  sirih  dengan  konsentrasi  0,5%  dapat  menekan  penetasan  telur  hingga  92%  dan penekanan total (100%) pada perlakuan 1%, 1,5% dan 2%. Ekstrak daun sirih pada semua konsentrasi yang diuji menekan infektifitas Meloidogyne spp. secara total (tidak ada nematoda yang penetrasi akar) dan tidak mengganggu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed at determining effectiveness of betel leaf extract in suppressing eggs hatching and infectivity of Meloidogyne spp. The research was done experimentally and completely randomized designed. Four concentrations (0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2%) of betel leaf extract were tested and a treatment without extract was provided as a control. Each treatment was repeated three times. Data of experiments were subjected to analysis of variance followed by least significant different test at 5% significant level. Results of experiments showed that betel leaf extract at 0.5% suppressed eggs hatching as much as 92% and total (100%)  suppressions  were recorded  at  concentrations  of  1%,  1.5%  and 2%.  Betel leaf  extract, at  all concentrations tested, totally suppressed infectivity of Meloidogyne spp. (no nematode penetrated roots) and did not interference plant growth and development.
